Razr

Hi all. Its a happy day for me and a sad day. That sad news is I lost a dear friend on Tuesday. She and I both had a lot in common with what we go through on a daily basis. We both suffered from severe chronic illness. We were the only ones that totally understood what the other was going through. She was so brave and such a fighter. She had amazing faith and loved her family. I am going to miss her so much. She was such a special person. While she was sick she was worrying about me. I find comfort in knowing she is no longer in any pain or suffering and she has met Jesus face to face.

To cheer me up Jim was able to get my phone ahead of time. He bought me the new Droid Razr. I love it. It really flies.

Here is the Prairie Schooled cat I am working on.

Also here is what my secret pal from church got me for the Christmas party.

Doris owns her own catering company and makes her own candies. They were milk chocolate and white chocolate bon bons with coconut inside. Yummy.

Also I was able to get this really nice framed wooden box to put some of my cross stitch in. Isn't is gorgeous. It was half off and only cost $15.00!!

Framing and more

I have been a busy little bee lately. My friend Carla made these beautiful designs and she asked me to frame them for her. This is the first time I have ever done this. It was so much fun. They were for her secret pal at church for the Christmas party. Her pal Valerie loved them. I picked out the frames and everything. I was really pleased. Tell me what you think.

Notice the rust in the frame to accent the rust in the picture.

Also finished a watering can wire wimsy.

My secret pal got me some cool stuff and I will post later about it.

My new mag is here.

I just adore my new cross stitch mag The World of Cross Stitching. I got another issue yesterday and I am so pleased. I love the snowy animal motifs and the skating birds alphabet.also the gift of Lickle Ted is adorable. Maybe I will make it for a special sister in mind who lives in Michigan.

Here is a little gingerbread man I am making from the gift pattern book and Madeira metallics threads. I am using thread heaven to help condition the floss .

I have also been working on a watering can Wire Whimsy. It is coming along.

We got a snow storm Tuesday and here is what it looked like from the car.

Last weekend we walked on the.new walking trails and check out this beautiful tree.

A note, an invite, and more

I got the nicest note from my friend Marie. She knows I have two kitties and love animals. She is such an encourager.

I also got an invite for a meal for the library staff in Dec. I am a volunteer and friend of the library. I am looking forward to that. I love libraries. I spent most of my growing up years in one.

It just started to rain. It was real breezy outside when I took Sheba out for her morning potty break. I sure do love fall. Here she is hoping to get more.

I will take pictures of the play tonite that I am doing at Oldenburg Academy. I am playing in the pit.

Here is some pics of the magazines I got at half price books for fifty cents a piece. What a deal. A six month subscription costs twenty five dollars now.

Also wanted to show my friend Iris's snowflaking needlework.

Isn't it lovely. What a neat thing to do with gigham.

My mom had some major surgery last week and a nasty cancer scare. Please pray for a speedy recovery. Scared the heck out of me when I found out. We don't have the best relationship but I love her and my dad very much.

What a sweet gift from secret pen pal.

I got the nicest gift from my secret pen pal the other day. It is a fall applique mini quilt kit. Take a look...

Such an adorable gift. I can't wait to make it. Thank-you so much secret friend.

Two weeks ago I went to a fun girls night called chicks, blessings, and chocolate. I got to give my testimony about how God has helped me through all my health problems. We played a card game called Hand and Foot. I also got to try out my chocolate fountain for the first time. It was really something. We all had such a good time and got to know one another a lot better. Some spent the night but I just stayed real late. Here is my yummy fountain.

A quick note to all of you out there on how to make the kind of chocolate that coats and freezes on the ice cream. It's the leftover chocolate from the fountain.

Buy 14 oz. of Hershey bars. Which is four giant bars.
3/4 c. Vegetable oil.
Combine oil and break up chocolate in bowl.
Melt chocolate in microwave by first putting it in for a minute then stir. Now melt it in 30 sec. Intervals and stirring inbetween each one till the chocolate is thin.
Now spoon onto ice cream. Leftover can go in any storage container. Leave out of fridge. When you want some again just remelt in 30 sec. Intervals.

Enjoy.

Please pray for me I am battling a yucky infection. I am needing to see and infection specialist on the 29th. I have five rounds of unsuccessful treatment. Thank-you.

Blessed stitching.

Rainy day.

Got a cute card from my secret pen pal and a nice calendar too. Thanks so much for it. I have been so busy I got away from my blogging a bit.

It's rainy here and cold. I actually had to put the heat on. Watched a good movie today while stitching called Harvest of Fires.

Went to my fav book store Monday and got a lot of books for the church library. Also found this PS book 14 for fifty cents. What a find. I am sure I will make a bunch for Christmas.

Well that is all for now. Will post more stitching soon. In the movie there was a quote I loved.

Every labor given in love is a blessing.

Everything we do is an act of creation.

If only we all focus on being a blessing and nothing else what a wonderful world it would be.

Progress

I have been steadily working on my latest project and it is so much fun. I just love this piece. A bloggy friend commented she too is doing a design similar by same designer. It looks pretty cool. Her blog is http://debbiescrossstitch.blogspot.com/

You should check it out and compare designs.

Of course here is some lovely mail I have received from two friends. Another sweet card from my friend Marie. I smile every time she sends me a card. She is such a wonderful encourager. I would bet it is one of her spiritual gifts. Also a letter from my sewing friend, Harriett. We both have MS and met I'm church a few years ago. She is such a sweetie and a cat lover too. She has been there for me so much. I consider her one of the closest friends I have here. We haven't been able to get together much lately which has been a bummer but soon we will again. Summer time is a busy time for everyone. Thanks for your friendship, Harriett. A letter is on the way.

And finally I got two magazines in the mail recently. My Cross Stitch Gold and my Stoney Creek. They are both awesome but I cam hardly wait for my World of Cross Stitching magazine from Britain.

The weather is beautiful outside. Here is a pic from my front window. The colors are beautiful. Jim and I will go for a walk later. For now I have a ton of laundry to finish.

Hope you are all are having a happy fall. I am up to almost 40 followers. When I hit 50 there will be a special giveaway.

Blessed stitching,

Mail and new project.

Well Jim and I just got back from our mile walk and it sure felt good. The weather is beautiful. We shopped yesterday and found a Boston cream pie on sale. Yum, yum, Yum. It tasted delicious with our coffee. Yesterday we went to church and ate at the cookout. I made some brownies that were quite tasty. They were Girardelli carmel browies...there wasn't a single one left;).

Here is the mail I received this week. One was from Marie, my Michigan friend and one was from my best friend and sister..Pam.

I am working on something so fun....

Trick or Treat Greeting
By Ursula Michael
The Cross Stitcher (Oct. 2000) pg.34
AMOS Publishing

Each letter is so much fun to stitch. It never gets tiring to work on. I prefer a lot of the designs on this particular magazine and I have several years of it. Can't wait to stitch more cute ones.

Oh... I forgot to mention I got my Cross Stitch Gold magazine I'm the mail last week. I like that one quite a bit. Still waiting for my British magazine. Can hardly wait for that.
