StitchMAP pillow swap

I am a member of yahoo groups stitchMAP. It is such a wonderful group of needlearts artists. I found out about the group from a Blogger friend of mine Kathy Shaw on her blog http://shawkl.blogspot.com/ I have come to really love these stitchers and let me tell you the group is really unique. It is a group focused on keeping the needlearts alive. Map stands for mentor apprentice. There are lots of courses to take and with each.course you are assigned a mentor. What a valuable resource. Please consider joining. It will be worth your while. Here os where you go...

Go to StitchMAP

Now more about the disign. I got it from an old magazine called Cross Stitch Plus. I think it was called berry sampler..I put the magazine away. I stitched it for Amber. I think the older cross stitch magazines have some great patterns. I collect them and on rainy days l get out and enjoy flipping through them and they cheer.me up. Well that's all.

Stars and Stripes

I am making my father in law a special quilt. The center will be stitched which you will see below. The quilt squares are red white and blue nine patch with peoples signatures on it. I am stitching so fast to get it done in a week. It's turning out nice. Here is the progress Saturday.

And here.is Sunday's progress..

I received my hoe snowman the other day. The back is so soft. Jen stitched it for me.

Today I am sitting in my favorite chaise lounge with my German Shepherd, Sheba watching Murder She Wrote season three. I loved the 80s shows. They were family oriented and had such great messages. Not true of todays prime time TV. Well a stitching I must go....

Exchanges.

Wanted to post some pics of exchanges sent and received. The first is my prairie Schooler exchange that I sent to Gabi in Australia. I made the tulip from Book 51 Garden Blooms.

Then Thursday I got this cute little snowman in my mailbox from Jen at HOE.

The back is really soft. I held it I'm my hand the longest time. Thanks so much Jen. I LOVE it.

Jim took me to a doctors visit on Thursday in Indy and as we were walking back we ran into this lady and her therapy dog. It's a Bichon Frisee.

This dog had real hair not fur. It was calming stroking your fingers over it. It felt like a big cotton ball. Very soothing.

Here is a giveaway my friend is doing. Go check it out.

http://44mamawsfinishedcrossstitchitems.blogspot.com/2011/06/needlework-set-giveaway.htmlch

Today is going well. I spent the morning playing my flute which is always a great joy. Then Jim and I watched a movie called K9 P.I. It was really good. It is nice to watch movies that aren't filled with a bunch of junk. Of course I stitched while I watched. I found a wallhanging that is embroidered that is patriotic that will be the center of a quilt for my father -in-law. I will post a pic later. Now Jim and I are watching the baseball game..The Tigers of course. I got him an early birthday present of a Droid X and I upgraded his MLB atbat 2011 app to be able to watch the games not just hear them. He is in heaven.

Stitching and organizing.

Still can't post what I'm stitching. My one exchange hasn't reached Australia yet though I'm hoping real soon. My stitchMAP pillow swap is done and ready to be mailed. My hoe snowman ornament is almost done and will soon go out in the mail too.

I was out walking in the yard and thought I would share some of the sights....

Does anyone know what plant this is. It's is different but very pretty.

I love daisies anytime..

Course I have to include a pic of the sweetest smelling rose ever, the Tropicana Rose. I have on in a vase in the bathroom and it give the whole area a sweet fragrance.

I am going through my collection of favorite cross stitch Magazines and writing down which ones I am missing and which projects I want to do in each one. Right now I am looking at April 1998.

The first one I want to tackle is Easter Sampler by Barbara Core.

Next, I want to do Bluebirds by Kathleen Hurley. Of course most if not all of these I will do on linen.

I love cardinals and so Cardinal Chalkboard by Mike Vickery caught my eye. I called the magazine to see if they might still have the chalkboard but unfortunately they don't. Guess I will search the web and see what I can find. Do any of you have it?

Finally, I saw Proverbs 15:17 Herb Tray and Napkin set by Lois Winston. One of my life goals is to fill our home with cross stitch items that have scripture on them. I can't think of a more welcoming and loving envirnoment to live in day by day.

Well that's all for now. Pumpkin is recovering well and seems to be quite content. She is a trooper and went through her slay surgery without a hitch.

Blessed Stitching,
Sarah Beth
