Well, it has been 14 wonderful years. Seems like forever. We have been through thick and thin together. We had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying Jims time off. There is so much to tell. I may have to break it up into a few posts.
We went to visit Carl and Nancy our previous pastor and his wife. We have gotten to be good friends with them and they have become family to us. They had to stop by the church after lunch so we went with them. Carl used to pastor West Street UMC in Shelbyville, Indiana. That was our first home a state away from our family. Anyhoo, in the fellowship hall was this beautiful old crazy quilt made by the church women at one time. I wouldn't be surpised if it dates late 1800s.
On our anniversary, Jim had something special planned. On our way there God had a surprise for us. We hadn't been this direction before so we didn't know any of the sites along the way. We saw some signs for Brookville lake. Then we saw the dam. It was breathtaking. What a treat. We saw it from below. Then as we left we found access to the lake itself so off we went. We actually got to walk the length of the Brookville dam. Wow. It was so cool. The wind off the lake was.cold and refreshing.
We spent an hour there then back on the road. God sure is cool the way he blesses us. I bet he was happy for us when we saw the surprise stop at the dam and lake.
The surpise Jim had for me was a trip to Richmond, Indiana to a store called The Stitching Nook. I had so
Much fun. Here are some pictures of quilts and stuff at the store and fabric I bought.
The snowman panal and table runner I bought everything to make those. I also bought the pattern to make the tissue box cover. Here is the fabric I bought. I plan to use some of the cats on a shirt or sweatshirt.
Here is the business card from the shop.
There is lots more to tell and I will post part two later. Love you all and pray that all my readers would know Gods amazing mercy and grace through His son Jesus. May God richly bless you and your family.
