Thanks so much.

Today is going well. Right now I'm reading a new book by a favorite author of mine Wanda Brunstetter called A Cousin's Challenge. It's book three of the Indiana Cousins series. I've read both of the previous books and they were great too.

Book 2 was A Cousin's Prayer

Here is some more projects up around the house that I've done that I thought you all might want to see

This was a cute embellished project using blending filament. That was tricky. I recommend Thread Heaven.

A fun bear by Marie Barber . It also came in a kit. I also have partly done of that series Bear & Bunny which is below and Bear & Sandcastle which I haven't started yet and is also in a kit. I recently checked a book out of our local library www.greensburglibrary.org by Marie Barber called Cross Stitch the Special Moments of Your Life. Inside it had the whole series of bears. I didn't know there were more so I have taken pics of the cover and the series. Maybe some of you may want to stitch these cute little bears yourselves. You can buy the book. I recommend using www.halfpricebooks.com You can get most anything used for hardly any money. Or buy it new or check it out at your local library. I've always been a big advocate for libraries as I worked as a full time volunteer for a very long time.

And finally what would this blog be without a really cute picture of my German Shepherd, Sheba napping on her sisters old pillow bed.

Dale Burdett vintage ornie

Christmas Mouse
Designer - Dale Burdett.

Here is an old eighties kit that I'm stitching for as an ornie. Isn't the little mouse so cute. I'm a fan of mice (not the live ones though unless they are are outside where they belong. There is a designer who has a selection called House Mouse. I have some of the machine embroidery designs and they are so cute.

Well I am working on the.backstitching right now. Isn't it amazing how the designs just POP when backstitching is added. Hope you're having a great weekend.

Oh, the other day we had a not so funny run in with a tick. Well I woke up early in the night itching my head. I thought it was a pimple that I was scratching at on my head when I realized it was a tick. I managed to flick it put with my nail and the the realized more clearly what it was. I woke up my husband yelling a nasty four letter word I'm not to proud of while running to the bathroom with this tick between my two fingers. The funny part is I have braces on my feet to prevent foot drop and braces on my arms too and a sleep apnea mask on. All which had to come off in the process. All the while I'm cussing loudly . I get to the bathroom sink and realize when I stuck the tick on my arm brace to carry it is now not there. So now Jim and I are madly looking for the dropped tick for a half hour. All the while I've stripped and I'm creaking out hopping around afraid the tick os going.to get me. Then Jim the ever smart and sensable one of the family looks at my brace and it is right there. It was hiding and moved to a different spot. So into an old prescription bottle it goes. A day later a tick gets on Jims leg. He was much calmer than I was. So we find out our expensive flea medicine for the dog doesn't protect against ticks. Only frontline does. Now we are protected.

Exchange!!!

Good Morning everyone. So far having a pretty good day. Took Sheba for a walk this morning and we had a nice time. It was  a little windy out there but nice and sunny.

Last night I was realizing I haven't been spending enough time with God. That I haven't been putting him first. I read a devotion last night that said something to the effect that whatever we think about first when we get up tells us what is most important to us. And I have to admit I have been puting my crafting ahead of Him. That makes me sad because I know I have been hurting God. I was talking with Jim last night about how I was dissapointed in a friend. And he said "Some friends are just fair weather friends. They only want to be friends on their terms." And after I read that devotion I realized I am a fair weather friend to God. I really felt bad. So, I will work on that.

Ok I would like to start an exchange. It will be a needle book exchange. It has to be on linen NOT aida.
Sign up date ends  April 30. Mail date by June 1. Looking forward to doing this fun exchange and our very first one. I will be giving away a prize to the one I like the best. It will be a really nice kit from my stash.

At the doctor

Today I am at my pain doctor. I have an implanted pain pump and I am here for a refill. I have it because I have a disease that causes damage to my spinal cord. Because of that damage I have severe nerve pain. The pump keeps me comfortable. I have a rare disease.called Recurrent Transverse Myelitis. It is a rare form of MS. I was recently diagnosed with regular MS also. Just dealing with the new.diagnosis. I do feel a little overwhelmed. Please pray for me.

Sheba after her walk.

Isn't Sheba adorable. We had a great walk today. The wind is a bit nippy though that's for sure. Got home and got the mail and guess what was waiting for me. My first subscription to Stoney Creek magazine. Question...what is your favorite cross stitch magazine past or present and why.

Went to Bible study and I got to lead today. It was a lot of fun. We are studying about King David. I really enjoy my Bible study at the YMCA here. The people are wonderful and such prayer warriors. When I have been in the hospital they have rallied around me and prayed like crazy.

I wanted to show off the booty my hubby got me over the weekend at Half Price Books. So here it is.

These quilting magazines are really something. I love Fons and Porters. Also there were a few other cute ones too.

This was.practically brand new. It is an older book but has some really nice designs and articles in it.

This book was six dollars. What a deal. I have done a few small candlewicking projects and really liked them. When I saw this book I couldn't resist. I usually wait till they hit the clearance two dollar rack but I had to have it.

Finally, this one ny the Needlecraft Shop was one I had never seen before so I knew I had to have it. We paid eight for this one but it was WELL worth it.

Well I am off to nap and then stitch.

Great Giveaway

Great giveaway!!!!

Found this giveaway on a friends blog.

http://measi.net/rhodystitchers/?p=122

Awesome weekend.

Jim and I really had a nice weekend together. We went to lunch at Ryan's in Greenwood. Then we were off to our favorite store of all time....Half Price Books. I have added to my craft book collection quite a bit and usually for only one or two dollars per book. Ocasionally I might have to pay 25% of what the book would be worth . So obviously I can go bananas there.

My dear hubby got me some nice quilting magazines and three really nice needle arts books. I am looking to maybe do some candlewicking wth the new book.I have a friend from church   coming over to visit and look at crafting patterns. I sure am a spoiled wife. ....

Well, Iris and I had a real good time visiting over tea and patterns. I was looking through some old needlework magazines and found a few really cute patterns I want to try.

Sewing Bees set

Here is a pic of the finished projects from the magazine.

posted from Bloggeroid

Scissors Keep

I am currently working on a sewing set called Sewing Bees. The pattern comes from Crazy for Cross Stitch magazine.(Jan 2003 No.74)

The first one I am making is the Scissors Keep. Isn't it cute. I am loving my needlebook that I made. I filled it all up with needles last night. Did you notice I used pastel colored buttons instead of all pearl. It gives it some character I think.

The sun is trying to peek out amongst the clouds. It rained here in Indiana yesterday quite a bit. I am not a big fan of cold rainy weather. I was hoping to talk Jim into going for a blizzard at DQ but with the weather he wanted to stay home. So being that it was so yucky we just stayed in and played Clue on the Wii. It was fun. He beat me.

We are on our way.to our favorite store, Half Price Books. I always look for good needle arts books and magazines. Sometimes I find some really good deals. Jim is taking me to lunch too. I am a spoiled brat wife.

TGIF

Well I am ready to start a new project. My friend, Harriett, blessed me with the coolest fabric yesterday. She had a whole bunch of decorator fabric sample.books and gave them all to me to use. I am still I'm shock. The fabrics are amazing and will work out perfect for finishing ornaments and needlework sets of fobs, pincushions, needlebooks, and needlerolls. My creative juices are just bursting.

Ever since I started walking with Sheba once a day I notice I feel happier and at more peace considering all that has been going on. I look forward to our time together each day and she does too. I hate that we lost the others but it helps to do new things with Sheba and know that things will be ok and we will and are getting through this.

Time for me.to put the chicken on. Blessed stitching,

Button Basket Finished

I got my stitching project done and finished. My good friend and creative quilter, Harriett helped me decide how to finish it off. I absolutely love it. Don't you?

Sheba.and I went for our morning walk today. Doesn't she look cute.

I have made myself a nice hot cup of chocolate and I am sitting down finally. Seems there is always.something to do. This morning after our walk I put a dent into the clothes needing to be put away in my bathroom. That tool.a.while. I'm proud of myself for stopping before I got tired. I'm learning to listen to Gods voice and obey instead of ignoring what He is telling me. I really cherish my walks with Sheba because I talk to God pretty much.the.whole way. It is so good for the.soul
I get everything out and my day goes so much better.

I'm off to stitch.a new project.
Blessed stitching,
Sarah Beth
